So, beginning of December, 2022, visited Amsterdam, France, and England for a two-week whirlwind of meetings. I actually have done other things since then, just didn’t get back into the blogging groove.
In particular, I decided to start living in my new place, rather than living in one room and creeping out like a hermit to gather food from the kitchen. Being alone for the first time in decades was a bit of a shock and I spent the first few months pretty much using only the overly-large bedroom. After my Europe trip I decided to decorate and actually live in the rest of the place. Maybe more on that another time.
In March we launched VetPowerment at work; it’s a solution that started with recognition of the distressingly high suicide rate amongst veterinarians. We built a solution that monitors the emotional health of individuals and organizational health of a veterinary clinic, then helps the clinic leadership find ways to remedy challenges and weak points. I think it’s going to really make an impact on people in the animal health industry.
In April I got to attend a leadership meeting in Annecy, France, in the French Alps. Gorgeous.
Another awesome meeting opportunity in June; we had a few meetings simultaneously in Athens. (The original Greek version.)
Started seriously paying attention to diet in May, playing pickleball almost nightly in June, bought all new clothes by the end of July. In August, MD and I finally did an international version of our annual adventure trip — we flew to London, spent a few days England and a few days in Edinburgh.
I decided at the beginning of this year that I wanted to invest more time in writing; though my parents’ advice of “make sure you have a different career” has worked out admirably, I really want to get back to my fourth grade goal of being a “real” author. So, I have a new novel finished and I’ll try to get it published.
There. A ten-month catch-up in one entry. I’ll make another attempt to resume blogging here and see if I close out 2023 with some consistency.
